A new book to our shop bookshelf but not newly released is Bargello Stitch by Laura Angell and Lynsey Angell. I bought a copy of this book for myself as I love Bargello – especially working it on linen in silk. I was so happy with the contents that I decided to put it on the shop’s bookshelf as well. It is divided into sections of beginner’s patterns, intermediate, advanced and ‘taking it further’ which contains borders, textures and ‘freestyling’.
From the back of the book: ‘This new pattern collection brings Bargello stitch designs bang up to date offering fresh contemporary colour stories: brights and clashes, muted fades, contrasts, complementary colours, zesty neons and metallic rainbows. Includes scores of worked samples graded from easy to advanced, easy to read charts, patterns for edges and borders for smart finishes, ideas for bringing texture using fancy flosses, and a freestyling collection that mixes several techniques on one canvas.’
