Description
The chap who is making the half cone sticks for stumpwork and needle lace is also making Broche tools for Goldwork from black cherry wood. I have an antique broche in my collection and am thrilled that someone is making them! I can’t wait to have a play with it. The broche is a French tool that the couching thread is wound around and then used to manipulate the threads without touching them – like a koma in Japanese embroidery. The difference with a broche is that it has a split in the end – to make it like a fork – for moving the threads around. This is not a necessary tool for Goldwork – but it is something fun to have and play with!
