Description
This little box was designed and embroidered prior to Covid but I’ve only had time to finish the notes recently. It is inspired by a painting in the collection of the Shakespeare’s birthplace Trust in Stratford upon Avon. The box measures approximately 10.6cm x 6.7cm x 5.5cm and is embroidered in English gilt metal threads on a base of silk dupion. The box is constructed using ladder stitch and features a gold printed Thai silk that I purchased in Thailand about 15 years ago! The little box has a secret drawer for keeping treasure and is a limited edition kit due to me having a limited amount of the printed silk. The kit contains all threads and materials required to construct the box – you will only need hardware such as hoops, scissors and clear craft glue. Click on the image to enlarge.
