I have always wanted to embroider a Frilled Neck Lizard – they are so dramatic! He measures approximately 20cm x 25cm and is a quite striking piece of Goldwork Embroidery. To design this piece I visited the Frilled Neck Lizards at the zoo for inspiration – and the poor stuffed one at the museum!
Padded out in high relief and with a dimensional frill he commands attention. He is embroidered in English gilt and coloured purls as well as utilizing Japanese couching thread, Angelina fibres and tyvek.
