Frilled Neck Lizard

I have always wanted to embroider a Frilled Neck Lizard – they are so dramatic! He measures approximately 20cm x 25cm and is a quite striking piece of Goldwork Embroidery. To design this piece I visited the Frilled Neck Lizards at the zoo for inspiration – and the poor stuffed one at the museum!

Padded out in high relief and with a dimensional frill he commands attention. He is embroidered in English gilt and coloured purls as well as utilizing Japanese couching thread, Angelina fibres and tyvek.  This piece is one of the projects in my second book The Midas Touch – you do not need the book to work the design, the kit comes with all materials and complete instructions.
