A stunning set of three golden insects: dragonfly, butterfly and bee – all worked with silk and gold purls on velvet to create a glittering showpiece for any room. The best part about these insects is that they utilize the basic Goldwork technique of chipping and couching as well as long and short stitch making them a terrific beginners piece. This piece has been a very popular class and is available with a choice of background colour – black or navy (very dark) – both look opulent with the sparkling gold. Each insect measures approximately 7cm and are worked individually in 6″ hoops. Many students have framed the insects separately, which also looks stunning.
