Description
New design Hawthorn and Hummingbird Moth is a nature study of this curious little moth and one of the trees that he visits for nectar. I saw one of these moths while in Salt Lake City in 2017 and couldn’t wait to stitch one. Hovering like a hummingbird, this variety of hawk moth doesn’t settle and is so different to anything that I had seen before!
The project is worked in Au ver a Soie, Cascade House and Gumnut Yarns silks on a background of dark green silk dupion using a variety of padding and wiring techniques.
