I first got interested in Lucets about 15 years ago when I was investigating different sorts of braids. Last month I was cruising through a suppliers list and found that they had these lovely rosewood lucets – I just had to order some for the shop!
Lucets are used kind of like a two pronged knitting nancy and were used to make cords/braids over 500 years ago and enjoyed a revival in the 19th and early 20th centuries. While I am yet to find an antique one that I can afford, I have a number of them that I use.
