Description
This set of three small embroideries take you through the techniques that were most common to Opus Anglicanum – underside couching, split stitch, surface couching, and working on the three common backgrounds of linen, silk twill and silk velvet.
I have always wanted to stitch a piece of embroidery in the style of Opus Anglicanum – Medieval Goldwork embroidery. After visiting the Opus Anglicanum exhibition at the V&A Museum last year, I started to work on the little horse – he was finished before I got off the plane on the way home!
The little horse is available as a stand alone kit if you are not interested in working the other pieces.
The Acorn measures 8cm x 4cm, Robert the Little Horse measures 6cm and Mary measures 5cm x 9cm
