I happened upon this magazine and as I love Assisi embroidery, thought that I would get it in for the website/shop. It hasn’t disappointed – it’s full of designs, both small and large, for working in Assisi – borders, motifs, corners – featuring gryphons, peacocks, mermaids, fruit and flowers. For those that haven’t had a go at this type of embroidery before, it is essentially cross stitching the background in a single colour to leave the background fabric void as the design. The outlining is worked in double running stitch but you can work it in backstitch if desired. There are instructions in the back of the magazine for working (which are in Italian). 50 pages – 46 of which are full of graphed patterns!
