Sacred Lotus is inspired by the many lotus blooms depicted in Chinese embroidery in the Centre for Goldrush Collections, Sovereign Hill, Ballarat. This project has been designed for a workshop at the Rare Trades Centre, and will be available as a kit soon!
The kit includes instructions on how to dye the fabric (augmented with video link) as well as the Goldwork embroidery and construction techniques. The kit includes silk fabric, silk dye, English gilt and coloured threads, Preciosa crystals, vintage metal sequins and glass beads.
This project is now available for pre-order! It is anticipated that kits will be ready for dispatch by the end of April.
