Turquoise Dragon Cyber Class – bookings now open!
The Turquoise Dragon cyber class is suitable for intermediate stitchers, those with a little experience in Goldwork embroidery or those up for a challenge – covering traditional Goldwork techniques such as padding with felt, applying pearl purl, laying purl and chipping along with contemporary techniques such as working detached Goldwork elements, playing with incorporating paper and use of Tyvek and Angelina fibres and also incorporating a little Stumpwork. The piece is highlighted with turquoise beads and is worked in English gilt and coloured threads as well as highlighting with fancy sadi.
The class is taught in four lessons and includes preparation and transferring the design. While this design is geared towards those with a little experience, the piece is suitable for embroiderers of all skill levels who like a challenge.
The kit contains all fabrics, English gilt and coloured metal threads, Gutermann thread, Fancy Sadi, freshwater pearl beads, turquoise beads, needles and pattern required to work the design. Once you have registered for the class, your kit and requirements list will be mailed to you along with your password to the class and forum.
The Cyber Class notes will be posted online at two week intervals and contain step by step instructions and colour photographs as if you were watching over my shoulder as I stitch. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the PDF file. This is free to download at http://get.adobe.com/reader/
As mentioned, an online Forum has been created for Cyber Class participants to talk to each other about their progress, ask me questions and post photos. This is a closed forum that only Turquoise Dragon Cyber Class participants can enter. If you wish to ask me any questions about this, please feel free to email me.
Your registering for the Cyber Class indicates your agreement to Copyright terms and conditions – that the instructions, photos and design are the intellectual property of Alison Cole Embroidery and may not be copied, sold or taught – in part or in full – without the written permission from the author
