Description
Half cone sticks – also known as needle lace shoes are used for making raised needle lace shapes in Stumpwork. The stick is secured to the base embroidery with a couple of couching stitches over the handle and then the needle lace is worked over the cone shape. When the stick is removed, a cup of needle lace is left sitting in place.
I have finally found someone to work these in wood for me! They are made of hard maple and the set contains three half cone sticks, two half stumpy and two full round shapes for working needle lace over. The set come in a small metal tin to keep them safe (not pictured).
